Unix/Linux Server Administrator SME

Our client is looking for a technical expert or SME (Subject Matter Expert) for application development effort to research, plan, design, and implement enterprise-wide Unix/Linux server infrastructure.  Able to Work well with Lead Architect and Business Analyst to ensure that Enterprise infrastructure is compatible with overall technical and business needs. 

Experienced in research and evaluation on emerging tools and technologies; Identify, develop, and update standards and procedures; Ensure compliance with existing standards and procedures.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience design, implementation and operation of Unix and Linux servers in distributed environment
  • Extensive knowledge of technologies including DNS, DHCP, LDAP. 
  • Working knowledge with enterprise relational database systems such as DB2
  • Experience in multiplatform networked environments
  • Experience with virtualization at an enterprise level such as VMware/ VirtualCenter/ NetApps server virtualization preferred
  • Ensure the recoverability, availability, scalability and performance of the Linux and Windows environment
  • Troubleshoot and fix hardware and software problems as they occur
  • Extensive knowledge in supporting remote access (Citrix), web servers,  and web services
  • Should have an understanding of basic scripting, such as Perl, CGI, and shell
  • Skilled at troubleshooting web applications & OS scripts written in Java / JSP, Perl, UNIX shell, HTML, XML, JavaScript, VBscript, SQL
  • Good oral and written communications skills and the ability to prepare clear, well-written documents such as procedures, analysis, and operation guides.
  • Ability to work as team lead, a member of a team and with customers. 



MS.Net Developer


Must have a minimum of 4 years in our field or a related industry. Applicant must have a Bachelors degree or better. Experienced in SOA is required. Hands on experience in Visual Studio 2005 bets.

  • Experience in OO programming with VB.NET or C#
  • Experience with SQL Server/Oracle and ADO.NET development
  • Experience with distributed applications using web services
  • Experience designing windows applications using third party components
  • Experience designing and implementing middle-tier business objects
  • Ability to estimate accurately and produce deliverables to that estimate
  • Experience with Visual Studio 2005 Team (Beta) System is HIGHLY desirable
  • Strong experience using UML
